SALMON & HALIBUT FISHING

We fish five days, Sunday through Thursday on the Cook Inlet in our custom designed 23’ walk-around aluminum bay boats with 90 Hp Yamaha motors. We also provide quality fishing tackle, gear and bait. Each boat with four guests is guided by a professional USCG licensed Captain with experience on the Cook Inlet fishing for Salmon, Halibut and variety of other species.

We begin fishing for “Kings” or “Chinook” in May. These First Run King Salmon are quite plentiful with thousands swimming past the Lodge on their way North to spawn during this early season.

In late June, we switch to heavy tackle in pursuit of the “Trophy Kings”. Big bucks often take over thirty minutes to land. It’s an impressive sight to see these massive fish thrashing and splashing next to the boat. The Lodge record is an astounding eighty-four pounds. Now that’s a Trophy King!

Late July heralds the return of the sporty “Silvers” or “Coho”. Thousands upon thousands run past the Lodge. Fishing for these “Silver Bullets” can be fast and furious with several hook ups at the same time.

The Cook Inlet provides a special venue, where we combine our world-class Salmon fishing with arguably the world’s best Halibut fishing during all salmon runs. It seems everyone wants to join the “Century Club”, with his own trophy over 100 pounds. Each year, we harvest a few “Barn Doors” well over the 100 pound mark!

Daily, after Breakfast, we gear up and go fishing not more than 20 minutes away and often closer. We return to the Lodge at noon to enjoy a relaxing tasty hot lunch. In the afternoon, we gear up again and fish for other species. The tides, which change daily in terms of time and height, dictate when we start to fish and which species is fished in the morning and afternoon.
