Wingshooting - The Gaspe Peninsula is one of the prime nesting areas for Woodcock in North America giving us substantial flights through the region in late September through October. These birds, combined with a healthy Grouse population, make for great shooting. 30+ flushes a day are not uncommon. Our meticulously trained pointers, professional guides, and miles of untouched coverts allows Camp Bonaventure to offer a world class wild bird challenge to the most discerning upland wingshooter. Camp Bonaventure is very proud to be endorsed by the Wildwood Wingshooting Alliance as one of a select group of ten wingshooting destinations in North America.
Camp Bonaventure has teamed up with professional gun dog trainer Brian Hays, owner of Chokebore Kennels in Rhode Island to offer guided Grouse and Woodcock hunts. Brian trains all our dogs as well as his own, giving us a team of bird dogs second to none. Brian is the only gun dog trainer endorsed by Robert G. Wehle of the famous Elhew Kennels. From championship field trial judge to upland guide, he knows dog training.
