Fishing Venezuela - Los Roques Archipelago, which lies 80 miles off Venezuela's mainland on the Caribbean Sea, is considered the most exciting bonefishing discovery since Christmas Island.
No matter how one may fish for bonefish, perhaps the most challenging way is to wade the flats, spot tailing fish, creep slowly within casting distance and then make a presentation. If the fish is not startled, it will most likely swallow a jig or fly, and within seconds, the angler is hooked to a miniature express train. Regardless of their size, bonefish can strip more line, faster than any other fish of comparable size. Most bonefish will weigh 3 to 5 pounds, but anglers often hook bones considerably larger; several ten pounders have been landed.
The Archipelago consists of 350 cays and small islands. Besides bonefish, barracuda, mackerel, pompano, permit, tarpon, snapper, and other species will tempt anglers. Good fishing is only part of the excitement at Los Roques. Non-angling guests will enjoy the Caribbean's casual atmosphere, plus take part in activities such as swimming and snorkeling.
Fishing:
Guides: 1 guide and 1 captain per boat. Boats: 28ft Fiber glass center console boat equipped with 75 hp Yamaha new engines. The boats are outfitted with canopies to protect anglers from sun.
